Nissan Note [w/Video]

Mon, 16 Jul 2012

Nissan has unveiled initial details of its new Note at a world premiere held at the Osanbashi venue in Yokohama.

The B-segment MPV's exterior features a number of familiar Nissan design characteristics, including the combined grille/lamp DRG and 'squash line' side eature line, first seen on Pivo 3 concept. The project was led by product chief designer, Atsushi Maeda.

While full details are yet to be released, the new car promises more passenger space within its interior, which was inspired by ripples in sand, seen in a flowing line above the IP.

The new car includes the company's advanced Around View Monitor (AVM) for the first time in a compact car and is designed to alleviate stress from parking and reversing in tight spaces.

Nissan has sold 940,000 units of the current Note, launched in 2005. The new Japanese-market Note, to go on sale this fall, will be manufactured at Nissan Motor Kyushu. Nissan's Sunderland plant in the UK will produce models for Europe, slated for release in 2013.
